Project Description

Located in the heart of Utica Shale exploration, Carrollton Exempted Village Schools partnered with SHD to develop a POWER (Providing Opportunities With Extraordinary Results) program. They received a Governors ‘Straight A Grant’ to implement this POWER/STEM program featuring a 5,000 sf School of Engineering, School of Agriculture and School of Safety building.

The School of Engineering includes an Associates Program thru Eastern Gateway Community College; Higher education readiness in engineering; Career cooperative workforce experience; and Green energy - implementing CNG bus fleet.

The School of Agriculture includes a 21st Century farm with a greenhouse, high tunnel, arboretum, trailheads, trails, boardwalks and instructional kiosks.

The School of Safety includes a certification program for workforce readiness and a safety data collection to benefit the industry.
