Director of Business Development

Outside of work…
My wife, family activities and church give balance and purpose to my life. Nanette and I are celebrating our 38th anniversary and love spending time with our daughters' families. With Brooke, Bill and grandsons Dane and Jude living in Florida, we enjoy traveling south whenever we can, especially to escape the Ohio winters! Kerin, Andrew and Asher are in Michigan, which makes the more accessible over long weekends.

For our vacations, we typically gravitate toward sandy beaches or historic villages, and include the kids if possible. We both enjoy boating and I enjoy Golf for business and pleasure.

What you don’t know about me…
I spend more time in my car than I do in the office.

How I got my bragging rights…
I have always been interested in the built environment. I have worked in construction, inspected construction, sold construction materials and now enjoy the marketing of design and construction services. I advocate sustainable design and construction because healthier and more efficient buildings consume less energy and reduce material waste which conserves our natural resources.

I earned my formal training from the University of Cincinnati where I received an Associate of Applied Science, Architectural Technology in 1974.

How I give back…
As a Leadership Stark County graduate, I witnessed the assets and attributes of our broader community, as well as the needs and challenges that many face within it. I believe a healthy community is vital to growth and prosperity, and volunteerism is the framework to create that. I have enjoyed serving (and hope to increase serving) on boards, foundations and civic committees, contributing to the greater good that these agencies and organizations deliver to strengthen our community.

Some of the current organizations that I am involved with are: Siffrin, Inc board, Canton Rotary board, Canton Regional Chamber Economic Development Committee, and SarahCare Advisory Council.

Who molded me into the person I am…
During my early married life I got involved with a church men’s group. The life lessons and friendships developed there still guide me today.

Architecture that inspires me…
I would have to say the Governor’s Mansion in Williamsburg. I appreciate the simplicity of Early American architecture; functional spaces and structures designed around the locally available materials.
