Outside of work…
I love spending time with my wife and our son. We love our church and serving our community together. I am an avid reader, outdoorsman, crossfitter, foodie, coffee snob, film maker and photographer.  My wife and I lived in Florence Italy for 6 months while I was in grad school. We love to travel and explore new places together.

What you don’t know about me…
My wife and I are high school sweethearts. She went to Jackson High School and I went to North Canton Hoover High School. Bitter rivals.

Our senior year she was homecoming queen at Jackson and in lieu of a king, her date was the official escort. I like to think that in 2006 Jackson High School’s Homecoming King was actually a Hoover Viking!

How I got my bragging rights…
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture degree from Kent State University.  After graduating in 2011, I began working at a firm in Columbus, Ohio. I worked on a range of projects from small local libraries to a 2,000,000 square foot cancer center in Kuwait. I had an amazing experience and gained a ton of knowledge. I am excited to use what I learned to help grow and shape the communities of North East Ohio and beyond!

How I give back…
I founded a humanitarian architecture organization called Bricksbuild. We are building houses in developing countries using dirt directly from the building site. We use a technology called compressed earth block. It’s a sustainable building material and creates jobs for people in the community by using local labor.

Who molded me into the person I am…
My faith in Jesus has the biggest influence on my life. It has molded me into the person I am and continually guides me daily. My wife and son bring out the best in me and my parents provided me with invaluable support early on.

I truly believe the quote that “you are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”  I have several mentors young and old who I intentionally have in my life. If I can gain a fraction of their qualities I will consider that a win.

Architecture that inspires me…
I love good design and I have many architects I admire but my favorite buildings are the ones that actually improve humanity. Instead of asking “what does the building look like?” I ask “what does the building do?” If form follows function then I would argue function follows purpose.
