Outside of work…
I’m usually with my family and friends, enjoying some kind of food, somehow it seems to bring people together. When I can, I go rock climbing and mountain biking. Even though I’m not necessarily good at it, it’s a way to challenge myself. I love going to museums and art galleries when I’m traveling, it helps to learn more about the place I’m visiting. I’m also in the process of teaching myself how to work with concrete molding to design jewelry and homeware objects.

What you don’t know about me…

My family and I are from Brazil, and we lived there until 2006 when my dad’s work transferred him to Ohio. We lived in Sao Paulo, which is one of the largest cities in Brazil, so the move to Uniontown, Ohio was quite the jump, but now I don’t think I could ever live in such a big city.

How I got my bragging rights…
I graduated from Kent State University with my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design in May 2016. My education at Kent has helped me grow tremendously. In the past 5 years, I dedicated myself to design and fine arts, studied abroad in Italy, and interned at a firm in Pittsburgh.

How I give back…
Since school has been a big part of my life in recent years, I have not volunteered myself as much as I would like, but when I could I would work at Zero Landfill, which helps reduce waste by collecting architectural and interior design samples from firms. I have also volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Who molded me into the person I am…
My parents and siblings are definitely the people who have influenced me the most. My parents taught us that honesty and hard work always pay off.

Architecture that inspires me…

I have always wanted to visit The Seattle Public Library by Rem Koolhaas. I find it intriguing how it blends architecture and nature, the traditional and modern use for libraries.
