Outside of work…
You can usually find me at the local coffee shop enjoying a cup of coffee with a dash of laughter with my friends and family. I also love to be outside and to be active, whether that means an intense morning run or a casual bike ride to grab some ice cream. While inside, crafting and scrapbooking are two of my favorite hobbies; I feel that pictures and homemade gifts are the best keepsakes that never go out of style.

Since my travels overseas, I have gotten the itch to travel and I hope to continue expanding my knowledge of the many different cultures around the world.

What you don’t know about me…
Some people don’t know that my cousin Jake and I were born on the same day and the same year as one another. Since I’m an only child, I used to tell people when I was little that we were twins when they commented that we looked alike. Through school, I was pretty athletic… softball for 7 years, dance (tap, ballet, pointe, jazz) for 15 years, volleyball for 3 years and competitive swim for 8 years.

How I got my bragging rights…
In May 2017, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Kent State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. I was also recognized as being a member of Tau Sigma Delta and I was awarded the Award of Excellence for most exceptional interior designer of my graduating class. My studies in Florence, Italy in the spring of 2016 grew me tremendously as a designer, and my previous year-long internship with SoL Harris Day equipped me with exceptional skills to dive right in.

How I give back…
Most of my community involvement and volunteer work is done through my church… serving children at Christmas time, serving during church services, participating in the bell choir and serving banquet dinners. While at Kent, I was the President of IDSC (Interior Design Student Collaborative) where we helped Relay for Life, Zero Landfill and other non-profit organizations.

Who molded me into the person I am…
My mother is the most dedicated woman I have ever met. She taught me that life is about much more than yourself; it’s about others and serving those people in your life. Somehow as a single mother she managed to not only run her own law practice, but also love me and grow me into the person I am today. The best gift she ever gave to me was the model of what it looks like to never give up when you trust that God is with you through whatever life may bring.

Architecture that inspires me…
The Cattedrale di Santa Maria (or Duomo) in Florence, Italy is the most fascinating architecture I have ever seen. Built by Filippo Brunelleschi, Giotto Arnolfo di Cambio, and Francesco Talenti, this cathedral stands as the center landmark of the city as a breathtaking example that great architecture can stand the test of time in mass and beauty.
