Cutler Real Estate recognized that their agents' needs were evolving to a mobile climate where business can happen anywhere, at any time. The realization that a vast majority of agents' work can occur on a smart phone brought about the need to adjust their workspace to be more flexible, open, collaborative, and support the productivity of today's mobile worker.
To put this into action, Cutler asked SōL Harris/Day to find a modern solution to their work style. SHD developed prototype designs that could adapt to different sized spaces, and eventually be applied to existing interior environments in phased renovations.
As the first to apply this design concept, a new 1,200 square foot storefront will open in New Albany, Ohio. Requiring less square footage, this new space (Wi-Fi enabled, of course) will offer Realtors "touch down" spaces where they can work, check email, grab coffee, meet with other agents and clients...without occupying designated "me" space. A glass-enclosed conference room provides a private area to allow for document signing, formal meetings with clients, and other closed-door functions.
With this new look and space, it was crucial that the Cutler brand be emphasized. SHD accomplished this by using Cutler's signature orange and vibrant blue colors, offering consistency between existing and future locations as well as increased brand recognition.
With a desire to make their business more visible to the public, Cutler chose an existing retail center in New Albany, which will enable pedestrian traffic to see into their hub of activity and technology. Cutler plans to collaborate with the neighboring art gallery to display local artwork, a way to connect with their local community. Look for Cutler's new office to open later this fall.
